You wake me from a restless slumber Softly, gently you call my name You start to show me the world in all it’s wonder My heart softens in the palm of Your hand Arise you say, shine bright and bold for you are the Dawn and your light has come But my bones sag under the weight of this world Its feels as if the enemy has won Then you sweep me off my feet, carry me to the foot of the cross Just when I’m ready to sacrifice my life in repentance of sin You put nails in your hands and bear for me the cost You shower me with gifts that I can never seem to accept You love me with an everlasting love And even when your affections I reject You write promises on my stone tablet heart You are the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow Time is but fleeting to your plan So why can’t I seem to shake this sorrow Why do I hide like in the garden at the fall of man. Oh Lord bring me back to Eden And let’s us walk in the cool of the day Father put your son under a deep slumber and remould me again from his rib Lead me beside still waters and let me follow only in Your way Help me to love again, teach this heart to trust and forgive Oh lover of my heart, woo me to repentance Speak sweet everything’s in my ear May I live my life in remembrance Hide me in Your shadow, let me be found here
