The thing about Deer

Welcome, we are about to embark upon a journey, delving in to the depths of my mind. Who knows what we will discover there. Beware; this journey will go deep into the crevice’s of my thoughts, which at times are profound and other times… well nonsense really.
Now that the formalities are over, Hi My name is Roxanne. I like to talk and think a lot. I started this blog mainly because I have many thoughts and feelings and my instagram captions are really way too long.
So this first post will be a little something about the meaning behind the name. Doe of the dawn was God inspired; not to sound over spiritual but that is the truth. God gave me a picture of a deer around September last year and He has been teaching me about myself using this analogy. (God, by the way, is the best and most creative author out here.) So I’ve jotted down some things I’ve learned about Deer and in essence about myself… So Introducing Me… I guess (maybe some of these apply to you – let me know if there are any fellow deer’s out there)
What it means to be like a deer
A Deer is sure footed (serenity). Psalm 18:33 “He makes my feet like the feet of a deer and sets me on high places”
A Deer leaps over obstacles (strength). Isaiah 35:6 “The lame shall leap like a deer”
A Deer is loving and graceful (sensitive) Proverbs 5:19 “Let her be as a loving hind(deer) and pleasant (tender, gentle, attractive) doe
Why is all of this worthy of a blog post? Well I had never been one to say good words about myself and in this journey God has spoken value, purpose and meaning in to my life. I am a sure example that if your identity is not built on a solid foundation or is built on lies; then you are easily taken out. Now that I have truth from God to build my life and character on, I face all life’s challenges knowing what I am made of. It hasn’t made any of the challenges easier but it has made all the difference.
So a bit of humble advice from one little deer; know whose you are, ask Him for a personal word so you know who you are and then go out and live in all He has for you.
